This year, the AASSC Publication Awards Adjudication Committee was pleased to receive a number of high-quality submissions for both the undergraduate and graduate publication awards. Thanks to all of the professors who nominated students, and thanks to the students for sharing their work. We are delighted to announce the following winners:

Recipient of the AASSC Gurli Aagard Woods Undergraduate Publication Award: Aglaée-Louise Stroun (University of Lausanne)
For: "Deconstructing Höfler's Berserkr: The Shortcomings of the Männerbund Theory" / Nominated by Dr. Juliette Vuille
Aglaée-Louise Stroun is currently studying History and English literature in the University of Lausanne, and she has always been particularly interested in medieval history as well as how narratives and literature are built in relation to political movements or changes in certain historical periods. She is also very fond of comparative work and often tries to link her interests together.

Recipient of the AASSC Marna Feldt Graduate Publication Award: Jenikka Kirkland (University of Northern British Columbia)
For: "Indigenous Reindeer Herders and Liquefied Natural Gas: The Cases of Hámmarfeasta and the Yamal Peninsula" / Nominated by Dr. Tara Joly
Jenikka Kirkland recently graduated from their Master's in International Studies at the University of Northern British Columbia and previously completed a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Alberta. Their research interests include Indigenous rights, energy justice, and resource extraction, with a focus on the Arctic.
